Abstract
We discuss a case report of decompensated chronic liver disease (DCLD) on oral anticoagulant (Tab. warfarin) for hepatic vein thrombosis (BUDD CHIARI SYNDROME) optimised and taken up for incidental surgery. Preoperative optimisation of this chronic liver disease in a short span of time and Anaesthetic management for non hepatic surgery during the waiting period of liver transplantation is an unique challenge.
Core Tip: The idea to present this case report is to emphasize the challenges in perioperative care of an anticoagulated Budd chiari syndrome liver disease patient who is posted for non hepatic incidental surgery.
Keywords: chronic liver disease with decompensation (DCLD), buddchiari syndrome, warfarin, non hepatic surgery, split skin graft [SSG], regional nerve block.
